A Leisurely Breakfast

Image
This is Whit enjoying his ham, egg, and cheese sandwich for breakfast. He eats for 30 minutes. Now, some mornings, slow breakfasts aren't so convenient. But on a Sunday, the slower the better. I enjoyed watching Whit eat his breakfast crumb by crumb because these moments combined two of my favorite things-- waking slowly and eating. That's really one of the best presents that I can think of-- a slow, uninterrupted breakfast. Now I get why "breakfast in bed" is really a present to moms.

Confessions of a Two Year Old

What is Whitty doing in this picture? Saying please? Saying thank you for a new toy? No. He's confessing to a crime-- happily. Well, crime is a strong word. Actually, I had just asked, "Who threw all the felt toys onto the floor AGAIN?!" Whitty shouts, "Me!" as if he would get rewarded. It made me laugh. He was happy to help me clean up. I just love his innocence. What's wrong with making a mess, Mom? Well, as long as you're willing to clean up-- there  is  a time and a place for making a mess.

Happy Birthday, Whit

Whit is two, aren't ya big boy? He's a June baby. Very sweet. Here he is enjoying blue icing.  Sojourner asked to buy a stuffed puppy for him. That was his present from sister. He loves it.  We had a few friends over to eat cake with us. This is a Betty Crocker cake. Check it out online. It's easy to make (You can tell, because I managed to make it!)-- just takes a bit of time to ice and decorate. My friend Louise helped me so much. Thank you, Lou. I got over my cake making fear.  Whitty is a balanced little guy. He likes people well enough, but he likes his alone time. Here he is enjoying some play time in the corner of the living room, while the party is in full swing. Whitty is so special and blesses me with his hugs and smiles. I pray that he grows up brave, playful, and hard working-- and keeps the balance that he already seems to have at age 2.

All Whit
